The Adjustable Bed Firm-Edge Memory Foam Mattress Upgrade replaces the standard mattress supplied with your Laybrook adjustable bed with a Visco Elastic memory foam mattress with firm edge support, custom-made to your weight and preferred firmness. Memory foam is a temperature-sensitive material: when you lie on your side, the highest pressure points are typically the hips and shoulders. The foam softens in these areas in response to heat and pressure, redistributing weight more evenly across the mattress surface and reducing the tossing and turning that disrupts sleep.

The firm edge is incorporated on one side of the mattress to provide support and balance for people who sit on the side of the bed — particularly helpful for those with limited balance or who tend to feel as though they slip forward when sitting upright. When ordering, please let us know which side you exit: if you are standing at the foot of the bed facing the headboard, do you leave from the left or the right side?

The mattress uses cool foam with open-cell technology, allowing air to circulate continuously. Castellated channels cut into the foam draw air through the surface to help regulate body temperature throughout the night. The removable, washable cover is made from double stretch cotton, which provides maximum ventilation and helps moisture evaporate quickly, keeping the sleep surface fresh.

Every mattress is made individually to order, calibrated to your weight and chosen firmness. Where two people share a dual adjustable bed with different weights or preferences, each side is manufactured to its own specification — unlike standard mattresses built to a single size and feel.

You can sleep on the mattress for up to 14 nights and if you are not completely satisfied, we will exchange your mattress free of charge.

All mattresses are 170mm (7 inches) deep and 1,985mm (78 inches) in length. Widths vary by size: 2ft 6" — 750mm (29.5 inches); 3ft — 910mm (36 inches); 3ft 6" — 1,067mm (42 inches); 4ft — 1,210mm (47.5 inches); 4ft 6" — 1,355mm (53 inches); 5ft — 1,510mm (59.5 inches); 6ft — 1,810mm (71 inches). Other sizes are available made to measure on request.
