The Ultimo frame is designed for weight limits of up to 32 stone, while our standard frames support up to 18 stone. This heavy-duty frame features stronger, reinforced metalwork and more powerful motors.

This mechanism maintains the same high quality as all Laybrook products and comes with a five-year guarantee. It can be added to any of our beds as a special order item. Please note that this frame is non-standard and may take up to one week longer to manufacture.

The weight limits of all mechanisms do not include the weight of the mattress, duvet, pillows or any other items on the bed. These must be taken into consideration alongside the weight of the user. All mechanisms are tested with static weights — for example, a 32-stone mechanism is tested with 16 stone on the head section and 16 stone on the foot section for up to 10,000 cycles.

All double bed mechanisms 5ft and above (including some 4ft 6" beds) have two mechanisms and two sets of motors with a special linking cable to make them work in sync. If one side of the bed is used more than the other, the motors on that side will experience more wear, which can cause the motors to become unsynchronised. The mechanisms will resynchronise when the bed is elevated to its full extent and then lowered.
